FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cardboard-fabric cervical collars and can be used in neurology and traumatology for relaxation of involved muscles of the cervical spine. Cardboard-fabric traction collar for cervical spine contains a cardboard frame made with an account for the patient's neck geometry in height. Central part of the frame, which is a support between the chin and sternum, smoothly passes into lateral parts being a support between the angle of the lower jaw, metapophysis on top and shoulder girdle at the bottom. Frame is wrapped into several layers of a soft material, for example, batting, forming a product with cone narrowing ends, which is wrapped into at least one layer of wrapping hygienic material, forming a collar with free ends of wrapping material with the length, which makes it possible for the cone converging ends, during laying of the collar around the neck to be lie down over each other and be tied at the front part of the neck with the help of free ends of wrapping material. Frame is wrapped into such an amount of batting layers, which makes it possible to create, between the neck and the collar, the pressure which creates a vector traction of tonically tensed muscles.
EFFECT: invention is simple to manufacture and use, ensures effective extension of the neck, is capable to overcome during a short period of time, a pathological tone of cervical muscles, to partially or completely eliminate incomplete dislocations of the atlas and other cervical vertebras.
