METHOD OF TREATMENT OF BIOMECHANICAL DISORDERS OF C0-C1, C1-C2 CRANIOVERTEBRAL JUNCTION IN CHILDREN UNDER 6 MONTHS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61H1/00

Abstract RU 2797106 C2

FIELD: medicine, manual therapy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the treatment of biomechanical disorders of the craniovertebral transition (C0-C1, C1-C2) in children under six months, both independently and in a complex of therapeutic and preventive measures. The occipital bone or atlas is fixed with the thumb and forefinger of one hand and with the other three fingers of the same hand and palm the infant's skull is covered, while the body of the child lying on his back is covered with the other hand along the front surface of the chest. Then, the child is simultaneously turned on its side with the help of both hands, while the head rests in the same position relative to the body as on the back — the face looks ventrally, due to the reflex activation of the tonic labyrinth reflex, the child assumes a flexor posture. When the short muscles of the head relax, a turn of the joint of the same name to the side of the turn of the body, into prestress is performed. Then, the body is turned to the position on the back, performing traction and reverse movement with the cranial arm in the form of an accurate short high-speed low-amplitude push with the middle phalanx of the index finger on the mastoid process of the occipital bone for the C0-C1 condylar joint or on the lateral mass of the atlas for the C1-C2 facet joint. Then the child's head is returned to a straight position relative to the body.

EFFECT: method provides elimination of subluxation of the upper cervical spine and head joints, restoration of blood flow through the vertebral arteries and veins, allows to eliminate increased irritation of autonomic nerve fibers and normalize intracranial pressure.
