FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions includes device for muscle massage and method of massage, relates to the field of medicine, in particular to complex non-surgical treatment methods of the spine, and can be used in vertebrological practice for treatment of cervical and lumbar spine diseases. Device for muscle massage associated with craniospinal transition, contains hollow body, located in electric mini-motor body and reducer, reciprocating motion on rod, and the tip of the device rigidly fixed on body by yoke. At tip end placed a knob to affect muscles, at that tip end part being provided with a series of tapered grooves with metal ball-shaped elements arranged therein, arranged to move along conical grooves walls in reciprocating motion of device. At tip front surface is a metal ball-shaped element with the possibility of additional movement in axis direction during device reciprocating movement. Muscle massage method associated with craniospinal transition by means of point-wise instrumental effect on individual muscular sections of atlanto-occipital articulation in a certain sequence, includes kinesiological testing, wherein massage is performed using the device of claim 1, varying frequency of tip reciprocating of the device in range of 50–500 per minute, depending on resistance to external action on upper oblique muscle, on anterior rectus muscle and then on lateral rectus head muscle from the neck left side, then on the right side. Penetration depth under device’s action is proportional to muscle tone.
EFFECT: inventions makes it possible to increase treatment efficiency and quality, as well as to restore mechanical disintegration, namely, compensatory changes by eliminating vertebral imbalances appearance in cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions.
