FIELD: metal processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of hybrid laser-arc welding of steel parts, containing aluminium-based surface coating. Welding is carried out by means of electric arc and laser beam, combined with each other in single welding bath, in which molten metal is added as result of melting of consumable wire, welding is performed with shielding gas. Consumed wire contains 3-20 mas% of one or more gamma-phase making elements. These elements are selected from C, Mn, Ni and N, and shielding gas is formed from helium and/or argon with addition of less than 10 wt% of nitrogen or oxygen.

EFFECT: invention is especially suitable for welding of composite pieces ("tailored blanks"), which are used in automotive industry, or for welding of pipes.
