FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for hybrid laser-arc surfacing of metal articles. Method involves formation of a welding bath on an article in the form of a substrate, a part or a previous built-up layer by simultaneous action of an electric arc and a low-power laser beam of 100–200 W in a protective medium. Mixture of gases consisting of inert and/or active gas is used. Protective medium is fed through inner cylindrical nozzle of arc burner, coaxial to consumable electrode, and external cylindrical nozzle concentric to inner nozzle.

EFFECT: reduced specific heat input into the article, improved stability of wire melting, improvement of surface quality and reduction of allowances for subsequent machining.
