FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of operation mode of galvanic protection of steel hulls of ships and vessels. Method of control of operation mode of galvanic protection of steel hulls of ships and vessels includes periodic measurement of the hull potential at control points along the length of the hull by means of a portable electric device and portable reference electrode. Together with measurement of the hull potential at control points there is also measured the current intensity in electric circuit formed by the vessel hull, the electric measuring instrument connected to the hull, the reference electrode connected to the electric measuring instrument, and water. Then, based on the comparison with allowable values, of both ship hull potential and measured current intensity, there is estimated the state of protectors, paint coating and water impermeability of the ship hull.
EFFECT: higher information value of results of operation mode of galvanic protection of steel hulls of ships and vessels and reduction of the required number of monitoring means, exclusion from the complex of monitoring means of diving equipment.
