SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engineering biology and environmental biological indication, by means of quality measurements of growth members of different plant species, mainly of arboreal plants, for example, such samples as leaves of arboreal plants with simple and small leaf plate: linden, field or American maple, birch, or poplar. At each selected branch, test leaves are selected and marked with labels, in order to measure altitude of tree leaves from soil, one-meter length, millimetre accuracy ruler is applied. At that, zero height point is set at place of connection leaf plate to petiole, and if leaf has more than one meter altitude above soil, characteristic point on clothes of human meter is assumed for intermediate mark to measure altitude.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of measuring location altitude above soil of tested leaf during long-term monitoring for development and growth of separate tested leaf.
