FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, specifically diagnostic ultrasonic systems. System for assessing regurgitant flow comprises an ultrasound probe having a transducer array for transmitting and receiving from said location ultrasonic signals; an image processor for producing an ultrasound image of location of regurgitant flow; a Doppler processor for producing Doppler ultrasound measurements of blood flow velocity in vicinity of location of regurgitant flow; a flow quantification processor, wherein measurement results of blood flow velocity are obtained from a plurality of overlapping areas, spatially distributed along boundary of tissue in body and display of ultrasound images.
EFFECT: use of invention enables to determine accurate position regurgitant openings.
