FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, specifically to ultrasonic means of measuring regurgitation flow. Method comprises steps of receiving an indication of selection of location of a first hole in heart, transmitting ultrasonic waves to said hole, receiving ultrasonic echo signals, processing echo signals to obtain quantification of flow through first hole. Then an indication of a selection of a location of a second hole in heart is received, ultrasonic waves are transmitted to said hole, receiving ultrasonic echo signals, processing echo signals to obtain quantification for flow rate or volumetric flow rate through second hole and vector-merging quantifications for flow rate or volumetric flow rate through first and second locations of holes. System comprises an ultrasonic sensor with an array of converters for ultrasonic energy transmission and receiving ultrasonic echo signal from locations of first and second holes in heart, image processor responding to obtained echo signal. Doppler processor, processor for quantitative determination of flow, configured to measure flow velocity field near each of locations and vector combination of quantifications for flow rate or volumetric flow rate, and display device.
EFFECT: invention increases accuracy of locating regurgitation valve opening.
