FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and device for capturing SO2 present in gases which originate from cells for industrial production of aluminium by igneous electrolysis. Method is carried out by means of rectors passed through in parallel by a gas stream and supplied with a sorbent of pulverulent material type for adsorbing effluents present in gas stream, wherein reach of reactors comprises means for collecting said sorbent after contact with said gas stream, one of said reactors has means for discharging said sorption agent after contact with said gas stream in means for injection into other of reactors, wherein between discharge means and injection means there is desorption of SO2 from sorbent, which it adsorbed when coming into contact with gas stream before reaching said discharge means.

EFFECT: invention provides effective capture of SO2.
