FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: gas cleaning unit to clean exhaust gas from at least one electrolyser for aluminium production contains contact reactor, where the exhaust gas is in contact with alumina, and dust removal device to remove at least part of alumina. The gas cleaning unit additionally contains wet scrubber, where the exhaust gas is put in contact with water containing absorbing liquid for additional removal of the contaminants from the exhaust gas. The wet scrubber is installed at elevation above the dust removal device.
EFFECT: invention ensures effective removal of the contaminants from the exhaust gas.
