FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of non grain-oriented silicon steel for cores of rotor devices and electrostatic machines. Steel is melted to obtain a cast slab containing following components, wt%: C≤0.005, 0.1≤Si≤2.5, Al≤1.5, 0.10≤Mn≤2.0, P≤0.2, S≤0.005, N≤0.005, Nb+V+Ti≤0.006 and Fe and unavoidable impurities - balance. Steel melting includes is circulation-vacuum refining with implementation of decarbonation and reduction in said circulation-vacuum refining using a reducing agent, initial amount of which Y satisfies following expression: Y=K×m×([O]-50), where [O] is content of free oxygen in units of ppm after decarbonation, K is a factor denoting reducing capability of reducing agent, having a value within range from 0.35×10-3 to 1.75×10-3, m is mass of molten steel contained in teeming ladle in tons. Cast slab hot rolling is performed to produce hot-rolled strip with its further normalisation, at which strip is heated to temperature of phase transformation Ac1 or higher and 1,100 °C or below, with subsequent maintenance during a period of time t 10-90 s. Cold rolling of normalised hot-rolled strip is performed to produce cold-rolled strip and annealed.
EFFECT: high magnetic permeability and low losses in iron under operating magnetic induction of 1-1½ T.
