FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and can be used for land reclamation and spring irrigation of haymaking lands where streams flow as well as in other industries when short-term increase of water level in stream is required. Temporary water retaining structure made of ice and snow includes wooden poles accumulating snow and ice. Wood poles, embedded into the bottom of stream and frozen inside it as piles are coated with top layer of dry grass and bulrush.
EFFECT: invention provides higher productivity of haymaking and grass lands.
