FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of ceramics, particularly, to high-speed methods sintering compacted ceramic materials by microwave radiation. Developed method provides sampling ceramic with density close to density of monocrystal, with low average grain size. Proposed method comprises sintering blank surrounded by heat-insulating material is placed in metal Chamber and fed into the intense microwave radiation at frequency 10÷100 GHz. After holding billet at removal of the bundles (approximately 800°C) microwave radiation power so that specific absorbed power of microwave radiation in the material of the workpiece is in the range of 10-500 W/°C. Heating rate of the workpiece at the stage of the seal is kept in the range of 100÷5,000°C/min, and the process of heating lasts for not more than 5 minutes. At the heating rate density of sintered article reaches more than 99 % of theoretical value.
EFFECT: developed method provides high uniformity of material articles, considerable reduction of sintering time, reduced power consumption in production of ceramics.
