FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: electrostatic locking unit (ELU) relates to devices for fixation and retention in fixed state relative to each other of separate parts or elements of different mechanisms and devices with possibility of their further disconnection and functions due to electrostatic (Coulomb) force attracting electrodes charged with opposite electrical charges and separated by sufficiently narrow layer of dielectric. ELU may serve as a locking device (lock) and may be used for many other similar purposes. ELU advantage is minimum consumed power and potential usage in self-contained solutions when external power supply sources are absent, using only renewable energy sources.
EFFECT: guaranteed fixation of ELU elements at moment of closure, for this purpose ELU power supply circuit switches on electric valve that locks reverse charging current through power supply element and stabilising the process of electric charges accumulation at one of ELU electrodes, wherein similar stabilization of charge accumulation of opposite sign at other ELU electrode takes place automatically due to electrostatic induction effect stipulated by charges at first electrode charged by electric valve.
