FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to laboratory diagnostics and hepatology in internal diseases, and can be applied to estimate state of liver in patients with chronic viral hepatitis C. Matter of method: thrombocyte count in patient's whole blood, blood serum level of tumour necrosis factor alpha, and concentration of albumin are determined, then hepatic fibrosis index is calculated by following formula: FI = 3.79-0.0056·TC+0.0855·TNF-α-0.0352·ALBUMIN. If fibrosis index is in range 0 to 0.5, absence of fibrosis (stage F0) is determined, fibrosis index varying from 0.6 to 2.5 corresponds to moderate stage of fibrosis (F1-2), fibrosis index more than 2.5 corresponds to manifested stage of fibrosis (F3-4).

EFFECT: invention provides reducing injuries, higher availability, and simplicity along with high sensitivity and specificity.
