FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: compression wave generator may contain tray, bearing piston. Tray can also contain locking facility, upon activation of which piston is fixed in fixed position. When locking facility is in deactivated position, piston can be released and can move, at least at some distance from tray. Bearing piston tray can be located in compression wave generator housing inner channel and can move in housing inner channel the from its first end towards its second end along longitudinal axis of channel. Converter can be installed in second end of housing. Converter can be connected with medium and can convert part of kinetic energy of piston into compression wave in medium at piston dynamic impact on converter. Acceleration of piston bearing tray can be realised by applying energy to tray. After tray is accelerated in housing inner channel, it can be slowed down by applying retaining force to it, wherein piston can at least partially escape from tray and continue moving towards converting device until it impacts converting device. Besides, there are disclosed examples of methods of compression wave generator operation.

EFFECT: disclosed are examples of compression wave generator configured to generate high energy compression waves in medium.
