FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, urology and radiology, can be used for radiographic urethrography, retrograde and voiding, for detection of strictures and obliteration of urethra, localisation thereof and length. Patient is laid on side, wherein sagittal plane of pelvis must be parallel to table. Leg adjacent to table is bent in hip and knee joints, and second is straightened and brought backwards. X-ray control of accuracy of laying patient is a combination of projections heads of its hip bones. During urethrography penis is drawn in parallel to bent hip, and central beam of x-ray tube is directed vertically on base of penis.
EFFECT: method provides elimination of angular distortions of image of urethra during radiographic urethrography in lateral projection and possibility of imaging actual length of urethral stricture, which enables to reduce risk of erroneous selection of surgical approach.
