FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement of fluid properties, particularly, to determination of fluid density using a density meter, containing a single magnet. Device (300) for determining properties of fluid comprises tube (304) to receive fluid, a single magnet (302) attached to the tube, and single winding (306) wound around a single magnet. One winding is connected to pulse current source (312) and receives a pulse current, which creates in the single winding of magnetic field interacting with a single magnet with actuation of the tube in the state of vibration. Device also includes detector (306), which is connected to the tube, as well as with measuring unit (310) and detects properties the tube in the process of its vibration. Measuring unit on the basis of detected properties of tube, determines properties of fluid. Device has housing (314), where a tube, a single magnet and wound on it a single winding.

EFFECT: high sensitivity, simplified design of the device.
