FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydro acoustics, particularly to methods of measuring radial velocity of object. Method is as follows: using antenna receiving noise emission signal of object, received signal is digitized and measurement of signal spectrum at selected time realisation. Further, cross-spectrum between two successive time sets is determined and on basis of inverse Fourier transformation of autocorrelation function from measured mutual spectrum is obtained. Then half of carrier frequency of autocorrelation function is determined and radial velocity is calculated by formula: Vr=Κν (PΝ - P1), where Kv is coefficient of proportionality determined experimentally, PΝ and P1 are half-periods of carrier frequencies of autocorrelation function for mutual spectra for first set time realisation and N-th set of time realisation, respectively.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of measuring radial velocity of object.
