FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cathode spark evaporation. Method of pulse intermittent spark discharge is performed by means of discharge of capacitor and discharge current is controlled by periodic connection of capacitor. There are time intervals between pulses of disconnection, for which no current of spark discharge flows. During pulse, that is, during time intervals of connection, supply of charges upon reaching current threshold is stopped and switched on again, so that in range of pulse there is formation of sub-pulses. Time intervals and sub-pulses according to invention are selected so that during repeated connection of capacitor spark is easily ignited again.

EFFECT: reduced voltage of spark discharge.
