FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a detector for investigating an object of interest, investigation apparatus and method of making such a detector. According to a version of the present invention, a flat detector is provided in which an opaque layer is placed between a transparent substrate and a CsI scintillator. This layer is made partially transparent by opening many small holes in the opaque layer using, for example, a pulsed laser. This allows light to pass through the front end of the flat detector through the opaque layer.
EFFECT: improved detector.
