FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: to increase service life of machine parts and tools made from alloyed, low-alloy and carbon steels, cyclic heat treatment is performed by heating to hardening temperature without holding, cooling and tempering. At that, maximum heating temperature in each subsequent cycle is reduced. Hardening temperature are chosen based on homogenisation of austenite and tempering is on martensite decay conditions. At that, last tempering is carried out at temperature that ensures required properties of steel.
EFFECT: as a result of such thermo cyclic processing is especially fine-grained structure up to nano metric is obtained, which provides high operational properties of steel article.
