FIELD: heat treatment of steel; applicable in heat treatment of perlitic steels used in mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating to temperature of homogenization of austenite at rate of 3-5 C/min and cooling at rate ensuring sorbit, or martensite, or bainite conversion to temperature below Ar1, or Mk, or Bk by 50-100 C. EFFECT: higher impact strength of carbon and low-alloyed steels of perlite class with simultaneous increase of strength properties. 1 tbl
