METHOD OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF VARICOSE DISEASE OF LOWER EXTREMITIES Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2594979 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to surgery. Method includes antiseptic treatment of a surgical site with chlorhexidine solution. Making a linear incision of great saphenous vein in an inguinal region in saphenofemoral junction. Great saphenous vein is transected and ligation of great saphenous vein stump in confluence in femoral vein with additional piercing ligature. Transection and ligature of tributaries of great saphenous vein. In lower one-third of medial surface of shin with a linear 1.0 cm incision, distal portion of great saphenous vein is separated, crossing, ligature with additional piercing ligature. Probe is introduced into shaft of great saphenous vein, proximal segment of shaft of great saphenous vein is fixed to end of probe. Varicose-extended tributaries of great saphenous vein on thigh and shin are removed by vein stripper from separate surgical approach size 1.0 cm in upper one-third of shin by tunnelling subcutaneous fat and separating from main shaft of great saphenous vein with stopping of bleeding by applying temporary pressure on treated zone. Inspecting for haemostasis and foreign bodies. Wound is sutured in layers and in a projection of remote veins and main shaft of great saphenous vein is covered with a gauze gasket. On skin surface cosmetic seams are applied with subsequent elastic intraoperative bandaging from groin to a proximal section in area of medial malleolus. After extraction of main shaft of great saphenous vein with probe onto skin distal wound is sutured with cosmetic seams with bandaging of ankle joint and foot.

EFFECT: method reduces length of operation 2-3 times at reduced anesthetic load on patient's body, prevention of severe complications such as thrombophlebitis and thromboembolism.
