FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of magnesite processing and is intended for producing concentrates with MgO content of not less than 93.0 % for refractory articles production. Method of thermomechanical enrichment of magnesite in indirect heating furnaces includes feeding raw magnesite of 40-0 mm fraction into the furnace, its heating up to the temperature of 680-750 °C, cooling and screenings of magnesium oxide from impurity materials; according to the invention while heating the magnesite dissociation process takes place in fixed bed with the thickness of up to 60 mm in the indirect heating furnace for a time required for magnesite decomposition.
EFFECT: technical result is the increase of concentration ratio with MgO content of not less than 93 %, reduction of dust removal and decrease of power consumption.
