FIELD: production of refractory materials having more than 91 % content of MgO. SUBSTANCE: raw materials are roasted at 600-1000 C, thus prepared product is cooled at rate 50-60 C per 1 minute, simultaneously its selective breakdown takes place. Magnesite being affected by causticization is carried out by classification, fine fraction being roasted. Rate of increasing temperature is 20-50 C per 1 minute. EFFECT: increased density of periclase and increased yield of powders. 4 tbl
