FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of rare and rare-earth metals, specifically to processing of phosphors based on zinc sulphide, and can be used for production of yttrium and europium enriched concentrate. Method involves drying raw material at temperature 150-320 °C for 2-3 hours. Method then includes chlorination at temperature 800-900 °C in melt of chloride salts of yttrium and europium. Chlorination is performed at a weight ratio of yttrium chloride to europium chloride 1:(0.1-0.3).
EFFECT: technical result is simple process owing to fewer operations, simple implementation of process, reduced power consumption for production of concentrate of rare-earth elements.
