SUBSTANCE: invention relates to animal science and may be used when growing, selecting and hybridising pigs. Method of selecting prepotent (terminal) boars for hybridisation of pigs Sys scrofa includes blood sampling in boars and pigs with live weight of 100 kg, detecting presence of complete set of erythrocyte antigens when testing pigs on blood groups and detecting swine genotype on all loci and determining genetic similarity of boars and pigs on tests of blood groups. In boars and pigs based on blood group tests, genetic similarity is calculated, selecting a pair of pigs and boars with high genetic similarity, estimating at phenotype class elite, upon reaching breeding age (8-9 months) performing registered mating of boars and sows with high genetic similarity (from 0.8 to 0.9) to produce high-homozygous (propotent) offspring. For local systems of hybridisation in order to obtain a high heterosis effect, boars with homozygosity of 0.8 are selected.

EFFECT: present method enables to obtain prepotent boars, which increase productivity of offspring during hybridisation.
