FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pulse engineering and can be used for reproduction of pulse magnetic field of lightning discharges during tests of engineering systems for effect of close thunderbolts. Device has a capacitive energy storage unit, first lead of which is connected through series-connected inductance of discharge circuit and first switch to first lead of second switch and to first lead of exploding conductor of current breaker, second lead is connected to first lead of resistive load and to second lead of capacitive energy storage. Device also includes a converter of electric current into magnetic field, consisting of two parallel electrodes which form an interelectrode interval. Each electrode is made in form of a flat conducting plate or a set of linear parallel conductors, either one of the electrodes is made in form of a flat conducting plate, and other electrode is made in form of a set of linear parallel conductors. First leads of first and second electrodes of converter are respectively connected to second lead of second switch and second lead of exploding conductor of current breaker, and second leads of first and second electrodes are connected to each other through resistive load.

EFFECT: improved reliability of simulation of magnetic field of lightning discharges during tests of engineering systems for effect of close thunderbolts.
