FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a wire made from an oxide superconductor used for superconducting equipment such as current-limiting devices. Wire made from oxide superconductor includes a laminar material with an oxide superconductor, comprising a substrate in form of a tape, an intermediate layer applied on substrate, layer of oxide superconductor, deposited on intermediate layer, and a protective layer which is formed from Ag or Ag alloy and is deposited on layer of oxide superconductor; and reinforcing layer, which is made of metal strip and is formed on protective layer of laminar material with superconductor by a layer of metal with low melting point, wherein protective layer has thickness of 5 mcm or less and bulk resistivity of reinforcing layer at room temperature is 3.8-15 mcOhm·cm.
EFFECT: invention ensures prevention of blowing, stability of current-limiting characteristics and possibility of limited wire thickness.
