FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of silver compounds, specifically to a method of producing finely dispersed silver carbonate. Described is a method of producing finely dispersed silver carbonate, which involves dissolving metallic silver in nitric acid and precipitating silver carbonate with sodium carbonate, where precipitation is carried out with a saturated solution of sodium carbonate, containing 21.8 g of sodium carbonate per 100 g water, that is added while stirring continuously in silver nitrate solution with concentration of silver of 0.5 mol/l to final pH of solution of 7-8.
EFFECT: obtaining high-disperse silver carbonate with particle size of powder of up to 2 mcm and output of product higher than 97 %.
