FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining metatitanic acid includes the interaction of titanium compounds with an inorganic lithium salt in the presence of citric and nitric acids and the following three-step annealing. The obtained product is processed with acetic acid, filtered, washed with distilled water and dried. As the titanium compound used is the solution of tetraisopropoxytitanium with the content of Ti(IV) of 16.2 wt %. As the inorganic lithium salt lithium carbonate is used. Citric and nitric acids are introduced in the amount of 0.625 mol//Ti+4 and 0.05-0.06 mol, respectively. Annealing is carried out at the temperature of 250-270°C, 430-450°C and 520-550°C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify obtaining metatitanic acid with obtaining a pure finely disperse product.
