FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. For prediction of anatomic therapeutic effect of idiopathic macular rupture (IMR) average thickness of retinal in the foveal zone is determined before the operation by spectral optical coherence tomography. If the average thickness of the retinal in the foveal zone is more than 300 μM prediction of the anatomic result is considered to be favourable. If the average thickness of the retinal in the foveal area is less than or equal to 300 μM prediction of the anatomic result is considered to be unfavourable.
EFFECT: method provides more accurate prediction of the anatomic effect of the vitreoretinal surgery during IMR treating due to average thickness of retinal in the foveal zone used as a prognostic parameter.
