FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for detection of postoperative foveal displacement after vitrectomy for epiretinal fibrosis. Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) is performed. Pre-and post-vitrectomy OCTA images are compared. OCTA is performed on optical coherence tomograph Optovue RTVue-XR in Angio Retina mode with scanning area 6×6 mm. Position of the fovea centre is marked on the preoperative and postoperative images by crossing the X and Y axes. Level of the EnFace scanning layer is set by displacing the upper line of Bruch's membrane segmentation to Haller's layer and displacing the lower line of Bruch's membrane segmentation to level of 120% of the choroid thickness. Large choroid vessels are imaged. Obtained preoperative and postoperative images are superimposed with the help of ImageJ software, superimposing images of large vessels of the choroid, and determining the distance and direction of displacement of the fovea on the postoperative image.

EFFECT: method provides accurate and fast detection and measurement of the degree of foveal displacement after surgical intervention in the volume of vitrectomy due to use of large vessels of choroid as anatomical landmarks.
