FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to ophthalmology, and can be used for treating lamellar macular rupture in patients with maximally corrected visual acuity up to 0.7. Preoperative measurement of maximal diameter of macular rupture and minimum thickness of retina is performed by means of optical coherence tomography. Probability of increasing the maximum correction of visual acuity P is determined by an original calculation formula. If P > 0.5, higher maximal correction of visual acuity is expected. If P < 0.5, higher maximal correction of visual acuity is not expected.
EFFECT: method enables accurate prediction of the results of the treatment of lamellar macular rupture with maximally corrected visual acuity below 0_7.
