SUBSTRATE FOR METAL CATALYST OF HIGH POWER AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER USING SAME Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC B01J35/04 B01J32/00 B01D53/94 F01N3/20 F01N3/28

Abstract RU 2598030 C2

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: metal catalyst substrate includes a plurality of unit catalyst substrate blocks assembled in a section, from which unit catalyst block comprises a shell with a polygonal cross-section and length; a cellular structure arranged inside shell having a plurality of hollow cells located longitudinally relative to length of shell, and a catalyst applied on surface of hollow cells, wherein hollow cells are rolled into a roll of a corrugated plate and flat plate, and has a central part with a round cross-section and angular parts for filling angles of shell; and multiple assembly elements intended for connection into a pair and rigid fixation of adjacent sides of two shells, which provide mutual contact with other assembled in this section unit catalyst blocks. Catalytic converter includes a metal catalyst substrat of high capacity, comprising several unit catalyst support blocks, in which cellular bodies are formed from a row of hollow cells, aligned in lengthwise direction, folded and placed in a polygonal body, wherein catalyst covers surface of hollow cells; and row of assembly elements, each for fixation of pairs of adjacent shells, which mutually bind folded unit catalyst support blocks, thereby combining unit catalyst support blocks; and a heater.

EFFECT: disclosed is a metal catalyst substrate of high capacity and a catalytic converter using same, in which several unit catalyst support blocks have a shape which enables to efficiently collect them for catalytic converter required for processing a large amount of exhaust gas from large ships or plants, using multiple large-scale internal combustion engines, or from large processing devices, and thus, unit catalyst support blocks are easily assembled in a large-scale structure.
