SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal dies. Described is a metal foil matrix for use in catalytic converters for controlling emission of vehicle engine exhaust gases, comprising a plurality of metal foil layers, each of which has corrugation at oblique angles such that each layer is not aligned with the previous and/or next layer, each layer having a thickness of about 0.0254 mm to about 0.127 mm, said plurality of layers forms a plurality of cells configured to provide a turbulent gas flow therein.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in conversion degree, reduction of emissions.
