FIELD: image processing technology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a device for processing images comprising a circuit. Circuit is configured to select, from a plurality of transform units with different sizes, transform unit 16×16, used for orthogonal transformation of image data to be decoded. Circuit is also configured to quantise transformation coefficient data, generated by orthogonal transformation of image data based on transform unit 16×16 using a quantisation matrix 16×16 based on quantisation matrix 8×8.
EFFECT: high efficiency of processing image data by generating larger quantisation matrix based on quantisation matrix of smaller size.
