SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering for image processing. Technical result is achieved by quantisation, using a circuit of an image processing device, data of transformation coefficients for image data using a quantisation matrix of size 32 × 32 in order to generate quantized transformation coefficients data, wherein quantisation matrix of size 32 × 32 is established by implementing the nearest neighbouring process, including duplication, at least one of two elements adjacent to each other in a quantisation matrix of size 8 × 8; and encoding the quantised transformation coefficients data.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of encoding an image.
