FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention concerns the use of zeolite catalyst for nitrogen oxide content reduction in a gas, as well as a method of reducing nitrogen oxide content in a gas by bringing the gas in contact with the said zeolite catalyst. To reduce the content of nitrogen oxides in a gas a zeolite catalyst is used, which comprises at least iron and additionally sulphur atoms, herewith the sulphur atoms are present in the concentration from 0.2 to 3 wt.%. in terms of the whole catalyst, and zeolite is selected from a group consisting of BEA, FAU, FER, MFI and mixtures thereof.

EFFECT: technical result is sufficiently high activity of the catalyst at lower temperature of reaction.
