FIELD: roads.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing bitumen for preparing asphalt-concrete mixtures. Method of preparing bitumen for preparing asphalt-concrete mixtures, comprising a melting and initial heating to condition, in which pumping is possible, main heating in a reservoir of an intensive heating to the working temperature and mixing with additives if necessary, consumption from a working boiler, process comprises using packed bitumen, melting and initial heating of which is carried out in a bitumen smelt-mill, and a preparing bitumen is carried out during preparing an asphalt-concrete mixture successively at each stage in separate portions, volume of which is multiple of the volume of containers, but does not exceed time consumption of bitumen for preparing asphalt-concrete mixtures, during the time equal at each stage to time consumption of a current portion of bitumen from the working boiler, and the process of pumping bitumen portions is carried out after consumption of the current portion from the working boiler in the following sequence: pumping bitumen from the reservoir of an intensive heating into the working boiler, pumping bitumen from the bitumen smelt-mill into the reservoir of an intensive heating, extraction of empty containers and loading a new portion in the bitumen smelt-mill are carried out simultaneous with pumping bitumen from the reservoir of an intensive heating and/or with pumping bitumen from the bitumen smelt-mill.

EFFECT: purpose of invention is preservation of bitumen quality in the process due to reducing thermal treatment of bitumen to three hours by sequential three-stage preparation for not more than one hour at each stage; reducing heat losses and improving environmental situation due to decreasing a surface of processing equipment by decreasing the volume of bitumen prepared at each stage to maximum time consumption of bitumen for producing mixtures; excluding increased thermal treatment during plant downtime due to small volume of bitumen in the process and using of a packed bitumen, which enables fast termination of new bitumen portions in the technological process (high production flexibility).
