FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to noise suppression engineering and can be used for reducing noise caused by gas flows (air) into atmosphere. Silencer incorporates a cylindrical perforated housing with a groove, in which there is a sound absorbing element, and casing enclosing sound absorbing element with a gap which forms an expansion chamber, wherein housing is equipped with a longitudinal slit for air outlet and is installed with possibility of rotation around axis of housing, sound absorbing element is in form of a shell produced during rotation around axis of housing of a triangle, rectangle, segment or a rectangle shape, upper base of which is made along curvilinear trajectory. Sound absorbing element is made in form of a plate made from mineral wool on basalt base of “Rockwool” type, or “URSA” mineral wool, basalt wool P-75, or glass wool with glass felt, or foamed polymer, for example, polyethylene or polypropylene, sound absorbing element over its entire surface is lined with acoustically transparent material, for example, glass fabric EZ-100 or polymer of “Poviden” type.
EFFECT: improved noise suppression efficiency with simultaneous determination of direction of outlet of gas flow and simplified design of silencer.
