FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: silencer contains a cylindrical, perforated housing with a groove in which the sound-absorbing element is housed and a casing embracing the sound-absorbing element with a gap defining the expansion chamber. The body is provided with a longitudinal slit for discharging air and is pivotally mounted around the axis of the body. The sound-absorbing element is made in the form of two perforated walls, between which there is a two-layer combined sound-absorbing element. The layer adjacent to one of the walls is sound-absorbing, and adjacent to another perforated wall is made of a sound-reflecting material, a complex profile consisting of uniformly distributed hollow tetrahedra, allowing to reflect the sound waves that fall in all directions, and as a sound-reflecting material the material based on magnesia binder with a reinforcing fiberglass or glass wool is applied.
EFFECT: increasing the effectiveness of noise attenuation with simultaneous direction of the gas flow and simplify the design of the silencer.
