FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Disclosed is a method for isolating mesenchymal stem cells from placenta of a newborn (after delivery during 38-40 week of pregnancy). Small pieces of placenta amnion together with shallow capture of chorion are washed from blood with Hanks solution with addition of an antibiotic and antimycotic agent, milled, incubated for 1-2 hours at 37 °C in 0.1 % solution of collagenase of I-th type. Obtained suspension is deposited by centrifuging, residue is re-suspended, then cultured with change of growth medium until obtained primary cell culture reaches 80 % confluence.
EFFECT: invention provides long-term cryopreservation of cells in liquid nitrogen (-196 °C) and further recovery of preparation while maintaining high percentage of viable cells.
