FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and powder metallurgy and can be used in production of sintered hard alloys and catalysts. Vanadium carbide is obtained by heating mixture of vanadium oxide V2O3 and carbon with specific surface area of 138-160 m2/g in inert gas at temperature of 1,250-1,350 °C for 25-30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention simplifies process of producing vanadium carbide and reduces power consumption.
