FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: in a method of obtaining chrome diboride a charge from a mixture of chromium oxide, boron carbide and a high-dispersive carbon material is heated. Heating of the charge is realised at a temperature of 1400…1600°C and for the time of 20…25 minutes, particles of boron carbide have the size not larger than 1 micron, the specific surface of high-dispersive carbon material constitutes 138…160 m2/g, and as the high-dispersive carbon material nano-fibrous carbon is applied.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce power consumption in obtaining chrome diboride.
