FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in systems for determining locations of sources of lightning discharges in meteorological information collection and processing systems. Said result is achieved by that the single-point system of positioning thunderstorms in the close zone containing an antenna system with an electric and mutually perpendicular frame antennae is added with three units of amplifiers as per the number of detected components of electromagnetic radiation, three units of analog-to-digital converters (ADC), a computer for processing received signals and obtaining evaluation of parameters of the radiation source position, as well as a communication channel for transmitting discharge parameters over a network, wherein the output of each of the antennae is connected to an amplifiers unit, which has several outputs connected to an ADC unit and then with data transmission bus of the computer.

EFFECT: technical result is wider dynamic range, faster operation and, as the result, accounting of interference in the received signals, determining the location of pre-storm radiation source.
