FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can find use in systems locating sources of lightning discharges in systems collecting and processing meteorological information. Technical result of invention lies in increased precision of location of lightning discharge, in provision for uninterrupted monitoring of operation of system, its potential to build up its functions flexibly, in reduced number of employed nonstandard equipment. Single-point system for location of thunderstorms in close zone includes antenna system with electrical and mutually perpendicular loop antennas, band-pass filters which number corresponds to number of antennas, unit for preliminary processing of signals with digital converters which number corresponds to number of antennas, communication channel and computer functioning as collector and processor of received signals, as unit of background and purposeful testing of system that carries out monitoring and study of thunderstorm activities, visualization and analysis of stored data. Outputs of antennas are connected through band-pass filters to inputs of proper analog-to-digital converters, unit of preliminary processing which is connected via communication channel to computer.
