FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, particularly to surgical dentistry, and can be used to plan installation of dental implants. Patient undergoes computed tomography. Using EZ 3D plus program a working window with axial projection is opened and with the help of program tool - "up" and "down" scrolling - the widest part of interradicular septa of molar to be removed is found. Using virtual Polygon tool of the program a triangle is drawn and three mutually intersecting lines are drawn. Area and perimeter of the obtained triangle is calculated. Single circle which can be inscribed into the triangle is calculated. Calculated diameter of the circle will correspond to the diameter of the dental implant to be implanted.
EFFECT: method enables presurgical, computer tomography aided calculation of the exact maximum diameter of the dental to be implanted using obtained measurements and known mathematical formulas.
